Shirley M. Larson

HOLDEN – Shirley M. (Olson) Larson, 91, passed away peacefully at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Worcester on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Carl A. and Alice V. (Skarberg) Olson and had lived most of her life in Holden.
Her loving husband of 58 years, Robert A. Larson, passed away in 2016; She leaves two sons, Jeffrey R. Larson of Holden and David A. Larson and his wife, Debra of Worcester; two brothers, Kenneth C. Olson and Lloyd W. Olson, both of Worcester; a step-grandson; two step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Kelleher and her brother, Elwood Olson.
Shirley was a stay at home mother and worked for several years at her family’s business, Olson Realty. She was a lifelong member of Chaffin Congregational Church and the Holden Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her loving family.
The Larson family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff of the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, and the Holden Fire and Police Departments. It was greatly appreciated.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Sunday, August 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. in the Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. A private committal service will be held at Grove Cemetery in Holden. Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to the Chaffin Congregational Church Memorial Fund.
