Sophie M. Sobol

Jefferson - Sophie Mae Sobol, 102, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center.

Born in Holden, Massachusetts, Sophie was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Czertowicz) Sobol. She spent her life on the family farm in Jefferson, where she developed a deep appreciation for hard work and the simple joys of country living. She graduated from Holden High School and worked for many years as a farmer. Later in life, she dedicated more than 20 years to caring for others as a nurse's aide.

Sophie enjoyed a quiet life with her cat, Sweetie, and found great happiness tending to her flowers and gardens. Her love of nature, gentle spirit, and unwavering work ethic will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Sophie was predeceased by her thirteen siblings.

She leaves behind her loving son, Dan Sobol Sr. and his wife, Virginia (Coiteux) Sobol. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Daniel Sobol Jr. and Ashley Loverro and her husband, Brian; her beloved goddaughter, Carolyn Wyler; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Ava Sobol, Matteo Loverro, and Lorenzo Loverro, all of whom brought her great joy.

In accordance with Sophie's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Memorial donations may be made in Sophie's memory to the Worcester Animal Rescue League.
