Susan A. George

STERLING - Susan A. George,75, formerly of Princeton, MA, died January 28, 2026, at her home in Sterling, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Warren A. Smith and Virginia A. (Montgomery) Smith, of Princeton.

She is survived by many who loved her: her two sisters; Sheila J. Pakradooni of Reading, PA and Sharlene M. Richardson of Gorham, ME, her first husband Paul J. George of Leominster, MA, her three daughters; Victoria G. Talbot and her husband Jacob Talbot of Little Compton, RI, Katherine L. Howe of Hinsdale, NH and Christine L. Macey and her husband Alan Macey of Rutland, MA, and six grandchildren; Ursula and James Talbot, Elizabeth, Lyla and Samuel Howe and Ellie Azoulay. She was predeceased by her second husband, Albert R. Brunelle, of Princeton, MA.

Susan was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. She later worked for the school while her daughters were in attendance. Following that, she founded her own painting and wallpapering business. Over the years, she enjoyed the camaraderie of team sports and being active, playing tennis, softball, skiing, bowling, and golf. When her girls were young, she coached their softball teams, taught swimming lessons, and served as a Girl Scout Leader.

Susan loved social gatherings and could always be counted on to arrive with a delicious homemade dish. You can consider yourself fortunate if you ever got a slice of her Blue Ribbon-winning apple pies. She loved jigsaw puzzles and her daily crossword puzzles (in pen, of course). She was a great conversationalist and will be remembered for the stories she shared.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family on Sunday, February 8th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
