Susan B. Taylor

Rutland~ Susan B. (Brown) Taylor 78, beloved wife of the late Robert M. Taylor, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA. Susan was born in East Derry, NH and was raised in Hampstead, NH. She was the daughter of Forrest and Betty (Brackett) Brown.

Susan spent many years as a homemaker lovingly raising her two girls, while working part time in the Hubbardston Center School cafeteria and also as a baker at The Barre Hotel and then later in life went on to college to get her Associate’s Degree. She then enjoyed a career as a human resource administrator. In her spare time, she could be found sewing, making homemade soap or creating beautiful cards for her friends and family. When she wasn’t traveling to faraway places such as London, Hawaii, or Ireland, she could be found reading, gardening, watching movies or baking her famous cinnamon rolls. And let’s not forget how much she treasured going out to lunch with her beloved friends and family.

She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two daughters, Karen Marini and her husband Anthony of Brookfield, MA and Cheryl Cleary of Woodstock, CT; her sisters Marsha Werb and her husband Thomas of Mystic, CT and Kathy Locke and her husband Bruce of York, ME and six grandchildren: Kyle, Andrew, Julia, Haylie, Sadie and Dylan. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Robert, who passed away in 2004.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Susan’s name to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
