Sylvia M. Luksha

Sterling/Grafton - Sylvia M. Luksha, 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 5, 2026.

Born in Worcester, Sylvia is the daughter of the late George and Corrine (Cusson) Ahigian. She worked for many years as an assembler for electronics and also worked for several years as a nanny for her grandchildren. Upon retirement, she moved to Las Vegas to be closer to her daughter before eventually settling back in Sterling.

Sylvia found joy in simple pleasures of life, especially Monday bingo at the Sterling Senior Center or the occasional trip to the casino. In her younger years, she loved spending time at the beach with family and friends. A loving mother and grandmother, Sylvia cherished her time spent with her grandchildren above all else.

Sylvia leaves behind her children, Eleanor Luksha of Sterling, Michael Gingerelli of Oxford, Gregory Zagunis and his wife Ellen of Grafton, Mark Zagunis of Millbury, and Christine Luksha of Sterling; her 9 adored grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren with one on the way and a newborn great, great grandchild.

She is predeceased by her siblings, George Ahigian and Shirley Barrows; and daughter-in-law Lisa Gingerelli.

Sylvia's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to her daughter-in-law, Ellen Zagunis, whose love and devoted care brought Sylvia comfort, dignity, and joy throughout the final months of her life. Her kindness and selfless dedication will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 17th from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road in Sterling. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 pm in the funeral home. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
