JEFFERSON - Tammi M. Novia, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Saint Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester.
Born in Worcester and raised in Jefferson, Tammi was the daughter of Steven Novia and the late Anna Marie (DiFranco) Nelson. She attended Jefferson Public Schools and was a graduate of Lunenburg High School.
Following high school, Tammi worked for several local grocery stores before spending several years working in the Food Services Department at Oriol Healthcare. Tammi enjoyed coloring and dancing, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family. She especially treasured the special bond she shared with her Aunt Deb. Her family and friends brought great joy to her life, and she will be lovingly remembered for the happiness she brought to those around her.
She is survived by her father, Steven Novia; her stepfather and devoted caregiver, Dennis Nelson; her brother, Steve Novia; and her step-siblings, Michael and Danyelle Nelson, and Angelica and Tom Price. She also leaves many aunts and uncles, several cousins and extended family members, as well as countless beloved friends who will miss her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Tammi’s family during a period of Calling Hours on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Church, 258 Main Street, Rutland. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery in Holden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tammi’s name to Saint Patrick’s Church – Haitian Mission Fund, 258 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543, or to the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, 3239 E. 2nd Avenue, Denver, CO 80206.
