Mendon

MENDON - Taylor Brennan, 63, of Mendon, MA passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2025, at home. He was born on July 14, 1961, in Bryn Mawr, PA, to the late Henry “Hank” and Anna Marie Brennan.

Taylor was a graduate of Lee High School. After high school, he went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in labor relations and continued on to earn a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in San Diego.

After working for the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Taylor spent 25 years working for the Massachusetts Teachers Association, where he was deeply respected by his colleagues and known for his dedication to education and advocacy. Taylor could often be found at the heart of local public education and labor causes, tirelessly assisting teachers and working to create better public schools for students.

Taylor was known for his quick wit and his ability to fix anything. He deeply loved his family and was so proud of his children. He shared his love of music with them and was always in the front row of their shows, usually acting as a “roadie.” He coached Little League Baseball in Sterling for many years. He spent much of his free time in his garden, trying new restaurants with family and friends, and walking his beloved dog, Daisy. One of Taylor’s greatest joys was cooking, especially for others. His signature macaroni and cheese were a staple at many family celebrations.

Taylor will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years, Erica (Stern) Brennan of Holden, MA; his children, Molly Jane Brennan of Washington, DC, and Zachary Brennan of Hadley, MA; his sisters Kate and her husband Daniel Shea, Gail and her husband Leslie Franevsky, and JoAnne Brennan; his beloved extended family and his many colleagues and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, July 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
