WORCESTER - Timothy J. O’Connor, 71, passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2026 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Tim grew up in the Tatnuck Square section of Worcester and attended Worcester Public Schools, graduating in 1974 from Worcester Boys Trade High School. Following his graduation, Tim worked maintenance and construction jobs at Parker Metals. Later, Tim worked at State Mutual in the maintenance department. Following his retirement from State Mutual, he held several jobs working security for local companies. He had great faith and was a member of several local Born Again Christian parishes.
Tim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working out at Bay State Gym in his younger years. He was a lifelong Patriots fan. Tim found peace taking long drives, especially around the Holden Reservoir, and walking on the Holden Rail Trail. He enjoyed music from the ‘70s and Chuck Norris films. Tim’s friendly and easygoing manner enabled him to strike up conversations with anyone he met. He genuinely enjoyed connecting with people, often meeting old friends at the Tatnuck Square McDonald’s and reminiscing about “the good old days.”
Tim leaves his longtime partner, Signe Kropp. In addition, he leaves four sisters, Mary Ellen Mountain (Mike) of Brewster, Patty O’Connor (Bill Nightingale) of Holden, Peggy O’Connor of Dorchester, and Maureen Brackett (Ed) of Worcester. He also leaves four nephews, Connor Mountain (Abby Walters) of Canton, Jack Brackett of Oklahoma City, OK, Tom, and Nick Brackett of Worcester. Tim valued his long-term friendships, especially his childhood friends, Dave Metterville and Rudy Madrigal.
The O’Connor family would like to thank Tim’s medical team for the superior care he received over the years, including Pang-Yen Fan MD, Erik Garcia MD and Jessica Noga PA. In addition, the family wants to acknowledge the dedicated, caring and hard-working staff at the Jewish HealthCare where Tim resided for the past seven months.
Services are scheduled for Thursday, June 11th, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rt. 122A) Holden, MA. Calling hours will be held from 10-11 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 W. Central Street, Suite 220, Natick, MA 01760 or www.kidney.org.
