Walter J. Schumacher

Rutland - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Walter J. Schumacher, 79 of Rutland , Mass., on June 3, 2025 in his home.

He worked in the motion picture business for many years and dabbled in real estate and computer repair before retiring and participating in productions at the Calliope theater in Boylston.

He was born in New York but spent the last third of his life as a proud citizen of Rutland along with his late wife, Reta.

He loved Reta, movies, music, Broadway musicals, cooking, Rutland and fireworks on the lawn. He loved and was loved.

He is survived by his son, Adam,his grandchildren Kal and Kayla ,his sister Arline and brother Peter.
