WORCESTER - Wendy Wolanski Griffith, 68, of Worcester, Massachusetts transitioned on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at home with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lou, sons Louis and Dan with his wife Julie and grandson Bodhin (Wendy’s “Mr. Bojangles”). Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Roberta (Stevens) and Frank Wolanski. Her extended family includes brothers Bernie, Mike, Gary and Dan, along with hundreds of Wolanskis, Stevens, and Griffiths, mostly from the Worcester area and some very far away in distance, but never far from her heart. Wendy was a 30-year resident of Pomfret, CT, where she and Lou raised their family.

Wendy’s achievements are far too many to list but include supporting and mentoring young women, deep water sailing, and fighting Ovarian cancer for 6 ½ years. She became an advocate for early detection and pioneering the fight for a cure. Wendy was an example of persistence and bravery to so many including her Ovarian cancer sisters and the medical staff with whom she worked.

Above all Wendy was a tireless, loving mother, grandmother, and wife, friend, sister and aunt with an open heart to all. Her generosity of spirit was beyond question. She was famously reliable and authentic, and she constantly extended herself to help others. Wendy lived her life to the fullest, she was a whole lot of fun, and her smile could outshine a star.
