WORCESTER -- Wilbert H. Valiquette, 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 joining his beloved wife, Gloria who died in 2015. Wilbert, known to many as “Bub”, was born and raised in Worcester the son of the late John C. and Lucy D. (Sentance) Valiquette.
He is survived by his three children, Lynn A. Reardon of Worcester and her companion, David L. Berthiaume, Richard J. Valiquette and his wife, Lisa of North Oxford, and Sharon S. McDonald and her husband Andrew, of Marlborough. He was the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren, Daniel, Kate, Kelsey, Adam, Kevin, Emily and Charlie, and great-grandfather of Braden, Chloe, Callie, Flynn, Keegan, Jayden, Makai and Remy. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard C. Valiquette.
Bub was formerly employed at the Worcester Masonic Temple, Coes Knife Company, Polar Corporation and the Whitall Carpet Mills. He was a 60-year member of the Morning Star Lodge of Masons in Worcester. Bub will be lovingly remembered for his love of antique cars especially his 1933 Buick, 1956 Pontiac and recently restored 1947 Dodge Truck. He was a long-time member of the Wachusett Car Club and life member of the Worcester Old Car Club.
Bub will always be remembered as a man who was loved by everyone he ever met.
We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Dad’s caretakers, Joan Goulette and Comfort Obeng, as well as the dedicated care team at Hospice Compassus Care who allowed him to remain at home.
A private graveside service honoring and celebrating Bub's life will be held at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bub’s name to the Masonic Education & Charity Trust, 186 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02111.
