PRINCETON – William C. Madden, 76, recently from Princeton and formerly of Laconia and Gilford, New Hampshire, died peacefully on May 2, 2005 in Oakdale Nursing Home, West Boylston.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Adeline B. (DiMasi) Madden; and four children, William F. Madden and his wife Karol of Mattapoiset, Michael Madden and his wife Mary and children Alex and Rosemary of Princeton, George J. Madden and his wife Hitomi and son Kenji of Berkeley, California, and daughter Madeline T. Hill and children Monica and Jeffery of Manchester, Connecticut; two sisters, Helen Madden of Woburn and Frances Barreto and husband Dan of Sonoma, California. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the son of George and Madeline (Collins) Madden.
Mr. Madden was a sales engineer for Wilcom Products of Laconia, New Hampshire, retiring in 1982. He was an avid amateur radio operator for 50 years and a member of the Lakes Region Amateur Radio Club in Laconia. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a recreational flyer for many years, holding his private pilots license.
A funeral Mass for Mr. Madden will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, in the Prince of Peace Church, Worcester Road (Rte. 31), Princeton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salesian Mission, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10802. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
