HOLDEN - William “Bill” George Keil, Jr., aged 88, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Worcester, MA. surrounded by his family.
A devoted husband to his late wife and a cherished father and grandfather; Bill is survived by his loving children, Cheryl Schmidt of Orlando, FL, George Keil and his wife Donna of Orlando FL, Leigh Ann Spring and her husband Eric Spring of Barre MA, and Allison Lowe and her husband Joshua Lowe of Holden. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren. Kelly Patel, Kerry Schmidt, Peter Schmidt, Brandon Keil, Rebecca Keil, Dylan Lowe, Silver Spring and Bella Spring and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Patricia E. Keil, his sisters Lorraine Nurge and her husband Donald, Barbara Battistuta and her husband Albert, and Beverly McLaughlin and her husband Michael.
Bill was born in Jersey City, NJ on May 6, 1937, to the late William G. Keil Sr. and Lillian Haas Keil. Although in his earlier life, Bill lived in many places from Canada to Israel to Colorado, for the last 38 years he has resided in Holden MA. Bill grew up in Cliffside Park, NJ and had many wonderful memories of his hometown, playing at Palisades Park in the summertime and hanging out with the neighborhood kids. He often shared many recollections of listening to “Radio Shows” with his mom in the kitchen, watching his father put together their first TV and getting into shenanigans with his friends around town. He was even voted “Best Looking” in his High School Yearbook.
Bill worked for many years in the field of radios and computers, managing workforces for the likes of Philco, Digital Corporation and Varian Semiconductor. More recently Bill could be found surrounded by his family, enjoying family parties, singing his favorite songs and making everyone laugh with his wild stories and jokes.
A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice in Bill's memory. Bill’s children would like to thank every Doctor and Nurse from Reliant Medical Group and St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center who have been an integral part of Bills care over the past decade. Their kindness, compassion and devotion did not go unnoticed.
